Overview
The Licenses section shows information about the license for the Cloud Failover Appliance (CFA) and the respective features.
Licensing for all CFAs, either physical or virtual, is based on the net capacity of the CFA you have purchased. The net capacity of each CFA is the total raw capacity minus the capacity allocations needed for standard RAID 5 configurations and archiving.
For example, the license for 2.4 TB is derived from 3.2 TB of raw capacity minus 400 GB for RAID 5, and minus 400 GB for archiving.
License upgrading
To upgrade the license, you may not simply buy higher capacity disks and install them in the CFA. This will void any warranties associated with your purchase. Instead, you must contact your dealer and purchase a license upgrade. This license upgrade includes installation and configuration.
